Creating a Memorable Experience for Your Guests with a Live Calligrapher
One of my favorite ways to incorporate calligraphy into my business is through a brand activation, which is a thoughtfully curated event, whether it is for an in store event, birthday party, or wedding, guests leave a fun and memorable experience. Not only do live calligraphers provide entertainment, but also a personalized gift—and truth is, everyone loves having their names on items, especially those with unique names. Here are some of my favorite past brand activations:
Engraving for Amazon’s holiday shopper event for a collaboration with Hailee Steinfeld
Amazon’s Holiday Shopper private event with Hailee Steinfeld was held at a beautiful home in the Los Angeles mountains and featured local small businesses. I provided custom engraving on Terminal B’s candles while chatting it up with the special guests. Terminal B designs their candle scents inspired by airport terminals from around the world. I’m very much into floral scents and love their DPS Bali inspired candle. My favorite personalization that night was “Venice Bitch.”
Tiktok’s Olaplex Influencer Event
Tiktok held a glamorous gold filled event for their influencers in order to promote Olaplex’s amazing hair products. Influencers were gifted hair products, including Olaplex’s hair bonding oil, which I added calligraphy to for a personal touch. The Tiktokers loved it and had so much fun recording the calligraphy process for their own content.
Fable and Mane’s Diwali Event
It was truly an honor to provide engraving services for Fable and Mane’s private Diwali event with activist and actor, Richa Moorjani, at the Baar Baar in downtown Los Angeles, an Indian restaurant filled with a gorgeous jewel toned color palette and a modern take on traditional indian recipes . Attendees were gifted Fable and Mane hair oil, each piece hand painted with bright botanicals, and personalized with a name engraving.
Whenever I get the chance to work with a brand and we have similar views on animal conservation, it is such a treat. As an animal rights advocate, it was such a delight that they found me for this special Diwali event.
Out100 Awards Night
Out100 held an award show celebrating trailblazers and activists within the LGBTQIA+ community. It was a memorable night out filled with cameras, lights, a red carpet, drag queens, and a ton of fab. I even had the honor of meeting the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence who all had such a beautiful and lively energy! They were a delight to chat with.
As a calligrapher, I provided engraving and foiling services for personalizing key rings for guests. Nothing lights up a person as much as getting their chosen name personalized on a gift.
Victoria’s Secret In-Store Valentine’s Day Event
This one is on this list because it was an unexpectedly fun event! Prior to the event, I hand engraved a sample bottle which included calligraphy and some custom floral illustrations—and customers loved the florals! Normally, bottles take 2-3 minutes to complete when it is name only. But customers were happy to wait 15 minutes to have the extra florals added.
Overall, this event was such a hit! Customers were excited to purchase Victoria Secret’s new fragrance and they had such a successful launch by having an engraver at the event.
